Planning place-based engagement processes.
Situation Explained
A Ministerial Infrastructure Designation (MID) is an assessment route for the providing infrastructure. A MID provides a route for delivery of essential community infrastructure, such as schools, hospitals and healthcare services. The MID process is an alternative assessment pathway to lodging a development application with local government.
Like a development application lodged with local government, the MID assessment focuses on any direct impacts on the site, adjoining properties and the surrounding area. This includes impacts on traffic, services, environmental values, and amenity.
The MID process also incorporates more engagement with the community than Council’s development assessment process.
LPC has been engaged to design and deliver community and stakeholder engagement for the following MID projects:
- Greek Orthodox Community of St George
- St Aidan’s Anglican Girls School (campus upgrades)
- St Aidan’s Anglican Girls School (Ambiwerra)
- Brigidine College (campus upgrades)
- St Margaret’s Anglican Girls School
- St Laurence’s College (pre-lodgement)
- YMCA Redlands
- Mt St Michael’s College (pre-lodgement)
Our Approach
Leisa Prowse Consulting has worked with clients at varying stages on their journey to receiving a MID. We understand that every project and budget is unique. We provide clients with support and assistance to suit them.
Strategic advice
Some teams prefer to take the lead in their community engagement efforts and are looking for some expert guidance on which tools and activities to deliver and when. We have provided clients strategic advice through planning and facilitating an engagement planning workshop and creating a comprehensive engagement strategy. This strategy outlines an engagement approach and plan that we suggest for the project.
Background support
For clients who want a helping hand behind the scenes, we provided extensive background support. Our experienced team will assist you by writing project collateral, such as informative FAQs, compelling webpage content, and engaging newsletters. We help to create project materials that resonate with the community and stakeholders.
End-to-end engagement solution
For projects who are looking for complete assistance in community engagement process, we have taken care of every step of the process. This includes designing a unique engagement strategy, developing print and digital project collateral, monitoring phone and email contact points, designing and facilitating online and face-to-face events and summarising the engagement process and feedback in a Community and Stakeholder Engagement Report submitted to the assessment team.
