Queensland Education Accord Summit

Situation Explained

In August 2014, Leisa Prowse Consulting was engaged by the Department of Education, Training and Employment (DETE) to provide facilitation services for the Queensland Education Accord Summit. The Summit was held in Brisbane in September 2014 and attended by more than 450 delegates including all Queensland Members of Parliament.

Our Approach

Leisa Prowse worked with the DETE project team to design the summit process, ensuring that activities would elicit valuable information to map-out the future of education in Queensland and inform a 30 year vision. This included the preparation of detailed run sheets, guide for zone and table facilitators, and facilitation kits that would lead the delegates at each table through the discussion activities.

As the Lead Facilitator, Leisa provided a detailed briefing for all facilitators before the Summit. She was also the key escalation point managing facilitation issues as they emerged during the Summit. She worked closely with the DETE team to support John Daley from the Grattan Institute in his role as Master of Ceremonies, providing feedback from delegates to inform the discussion as the Summit progressed.
